Céline Runway Show Fall Winter 14–15Paris2014

This runway design for Céline for Paris Fashion Week 2014 explored the principle of contrast to create a sharp and structured setting with a strong graphic ceiling. The set is invaded by tropical plants that are built into the design, resonating Brutalist architecture. The runway is made from reclaimed timber of a multiplicity of textured and shaded nuances laid like a rug and reminiscent of plants in a riverbed. Creating a sense of exuberance within the contained industrial space with its arched glass and metal roof, the runway space is equipped with grey stepped bench seating, and the reach of the riot of greenness is extended ‘behind the scenes’ through the semi-transparent partition.
